Camp Consulting & Support

For Staff, Counselors, and Administration

The past couple of years have brought about new challenges for adolescents and adults alike, along with a very rapid increase in mental health needs. There is a national shortage of qualified mental health providers and perhaps a greater gap in those able to accommodate the needs of children and adolescents outside of school environments.

We invite you to see how our organization may collaborate with your camp to meet the potential mental health needs of its campers, staff, and administration.

Mental Health Workshops for Summer Camps and Programs

Workshop Offerings

90 min training focused on issues directly related to the summer camp experience.

Topics include:

  • Understanding common mental health related issues including anxiety, depression, oppositional behaviors, trauma, panic attacks, homesickness and more.

  • How to help campers cope with strong emotions and difficult situations.

  • How to manage behavioral issues in a compassionate and authoritative manner.

  • How to recognize signs of self-harm (SH) and/or suicidal ideation (SI) and how to respond.

  • How to create systems and policies regarding SH and SI, including when to bring someone to the hospital and how to decide if someone can continue to be supported at camp.

We look forward to working together this summer in our shared mission of supporting today's youth and developing future leaders of tomorrow.
