Pre-New Year cleansing tips

← Return to our blog

Start the New Year fresh
Follow these helpful tips to allow your mind to be clear and free of clutter

Clear out your phone

Delete conversations, photos, and videos that require effort and energy, remove what you no longer need.
Some memories loop you in a pattern.
Detach from hoarding moments that no longer serve you.

Incorporate living objects.

Add fresh flowers and plants to your home.
The colors and smells will not only be a welcomed addition to your senses, the addition of organic life within your home will help shift the energy surrounding you.

Declutter living space.

Decluttering (the process of putting the miscellaneous physical things around you away where they belong) not only makes it easier to find what you’re looking for, it can also improve your mood and state of mind in myriad ways.

It gives you a renewed sense of control over your environment.

Stress Management at Woodstock PD

← Return to our blog

Our Director of Training & Development, Bryan Randolph LICSW, and our Managing Partner and Founder Dr. Scott Schinaman, Psy.D., MBA, CEDS-S, were recently asked to present at Woodstock PD on stress, trauma, and how to transform stress into a manageable situation. Our team has presented on this topic many times, particularly to those who are in first responder roles, as we recognize the importance and critical nature of their jobs and their ability to perform their jobs under immense pressure and stress.

During this presentation Bryan & Dr. Schinaman identified what IS stress, how to manage your own stress, how to manage and respond to the stress of others, along with recognizing important differences such as the variance between mental illness and panic attacks.  Then finally, when stress crosses the line and presents as vicarious trauma, or PTSD.

Below you will see snippets from Bryan & Dr. Schinaman’s presentation – if you would like to discuss with us how stress management services might be of use for your field of expertise, please contact our office to learn more about presentation and speaker services.
